Malzo Andrusian
Malzo Andrusian is the most famous of all playwrights (equivalent to our Shakespeare). He was first inspired by the first playwright Jora Blackheart's works. Throughout his life, he wrote over forty short plays and one epic called Gauntlet. His works have been published into many books and have been performed all over the world.
Malzo Andrusian was born in 1364 in the city of Cora Ultima. During his childhood, the city was quick becoming the greatest city of the world. Technology was soaring. Scholars, artists, scientists, philosophers: all were flooding to the great gates of Cora Ultima. Malzo was immersed inside a rich and diverse culture from an early age and quickly caught on to the hype. When he was sixteen, he first studied to be a scientist. However, he lost the passion for it shortly after the death of his parents in an accident involving the test of a new type of flying mechanism. He began speaking out against the technologies, but no one paid much attention. He spent the next few years traveling, taking odd jobs here and there. In 1389, he became reacquainted with a friend from school who had moved on to become a historian. Malzo worked with him, being an excellent writer himself, and helped take down records for the library of cora Ultima. During his work, he met with a team of historians who were specificlaly working on a research project that involved the old cultures. This was the first time he would hear mention of the elusive playwright Jora Blackheart. He read her play Death By Melancholy and was fascinated by it. He soon joined the search in uncovering old plays, and in 1390, Malzo discovered what would become her most famed play of all time: Fire's Last Breath. He kept the discovery to himself at first, and read the entire thing several times over. By the time he unveiled it, two months later, he had it quite memorized. So entranced by her work was he, that he began to write plays himself. His first play, Flight of Fear, was a short tragedy written and dedicated to her. It did not take. He had released the play in 1391, just as war broke out in Cora Ultima. Not one to give up easily, he shut himself up in his study for three years and wrote. He wouldn't allow anyone to disturb him except whoever was to bring him meals or clean the room. When he emerged after three years, the war was over and his play Gauntlet was finished. He had it performed in 1397, starring as one of the characters himself since they were short handed. The Gauntlet soared in popularity and surpassed all other epic plays that had insofar been written. Malzo went on to write more than forty other short plays, all which gained incredible popularity as well, but nothing was ever described as being so stunning as Gauntlet. Malzo continued to travel, act, and write plays throughout his life. He never married or had a family, though it is known that he fathered three bastard children, one of which he raised. Malzo Andrusian died of Whiteblood in 1435 in Aesir Falls.
